Honey Head Films Co-Founders
How do you create a film that looks like a million dollars (or several) when you only have a micro budget? Sara Elizabeth welcomes the team behind Honey Head Films as they share how micro budget does NOT have to equal micro quality! How do you rally a team around you, hire top crew at indie rates, stretch the dollar and gain investors’ interests? We answer those questions and share tons of tips, tricks and hacks. If you are producing a feature on a budget, this is not to be missed!

Honey Head Films is a female-led, award-winning production company, co-founded by Erika Arlee and Kristi Ray, that focuses on narrative filmmaking and lifting marginalized voices. Their most recent film and Erika’s debut feature, “A Song for Imogene,” stars Kristi, premiered at Bentonville Film Festival in 2023, and won Best Feature at the Rhode Island International Film Festival. In addition to their own content, they produce for film clients shooting in the Wilmington, NC area on films, music videos, and commercials, as well as run an annual summer camp called “Shoot Like a Girl” that empowers young women in filmmaking.
“Erika Arlee has created one of the year’s finest low-budget indie films.” – Rotten Tomatoes
